Newsday started their "Summer of '69" series with a once and future star.
While I am getting ready to post my rebuttal you may enjoy their take on a small part of that time. For the record there is a slight inaccuracy in the article - The Mets swept a doubleheader from MONTREAL and thus catapulted past the Chicago Cubs into first place for the first time ever! Otherwise it's okay.
