THE REPUBLICAN MAGIC ACT CONTINUES

Everyone knows the key to a good trick is deflection.

If the magician can get the crowd to look to the left while he does something on the right he’s ahead of the game.

The republican party has become masters of the magical world of deflection in that they are constantly getting the public to blame the ‘left’ for things they have done and continue to do on the ‘right’!

Just like most magic tricks, once you know how it’s done the mystery is gone, along with the thrill.

A true magician must continually tweak his act in order to remain mysterious and popular.

Information overload is also a good method of deflecting awareness of what is really going on.

A perfect example is ‘The Three Ring Circus'.

You may or may not love the flying trapeze act in the center ring, but you will not be bored because the clowns in ring number one have the crowd rolling in the aisles.

And look to your left where the beautiful blonde lady is standing on her horse while it races around the third ring!

But sitting just behind the curtain on the right are the architects of the ‘entertainment’.

Armed with their algorithms and pollsters they gather information on what works and what needs more work to work. And they devise insidious questions aimed at getting what they want to work, to work.

Comedians know that a guy getting hit with a cream pie or walking into a pole might not draw a laugh.

BUT if there's another guy watching the pie fly or the nose meet the pole, it's the look on the second guy's face that gets you to laugh.

That’s why Fox’s Carlson has made a career on right wing television.

His absurdly fake dumbfounded ‘How can this be happening’ look works on his mesmerized viewers as they suspend all logic and react with whatever emotion he is trying to elicit.

And he tweaks his act by setting up the center ring of shame by asking absurd questions that imply the obvious guilt of the subject in today's crosshairs.

He will ask a guest, or planted clown, “How do you feel about crime being up under the Biden administration?”

Invariably the answer that was preplanned is accompanied by the now infamous Carlson ‘open-mouthed’ stare of disbelief.

And Tuck's ridiculous act has been so successful that those in Congress with nothing constructive of their own have adopted and adapted the tactic.

When Ted Cruz and the rest of the clowns on the right used Tucker’s fake dismay to falsely accuse and ‘diss’ Supreme Court justice nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, they were playing to their audience.

When they asked if she thought babies were racist, or ‘Can you define what a woman is’, they were hoping to taint her with the same undeserved guilt as one would paint a married man with by asking him, “When did you stop beating your wife?”

And naturally the answer does not matter since the question itself has already elicited the desired effect. 

And their 'base' loves it!

These tactics are not new.

They have been used by con-artists, grifters and flim-flam men for ages.

The latest and most obvious example was recently voted out of the White House after he lost the popular vote for the second time.

But because the tactics seem to work on enough voters, who have little or no desire to do their own research, the lack of veracity of the implications cause enough of a negative stain on the recipient to attain their desired end result.

And when the questioner uses a disgusted look, he seals the deal.

The ‘right’ stopped being right for most of America when they stopped caring about America and started realizing they could win by deflecting.

Gas prices are up?

Look who’s in power!

Milk costs more?

Blame Biden (Or Obama, or Clinton, random Democrat in your district.)

“We did not cause any of the inflation that’s hurting your bottom line because we are not in power.  But if you vote for us, we can clean up the mess”.

Does the above sound familiar?

It should.

It is the 'lather - rinse - repeat' tactic used by the GOP every time a Democrat is in power.

The republican party blocks everything the Democrats try to get done and when the pain of nothing getting done starts to hurt, lather up!

And all the while the 'right' will hide their ‘do nothing’ agenda and ‘no platform for America’ mentality by pointing to the left.

The sad part is that when a magician does it, we laugh, but when the Republican Party does it, Americans die!

IT’S MY BALL, IF I DON’T PLAY NOBODY DOES!

Partisanship in DC has become the single greatest threat to a working governmental environment and we the people have been caught in the crossfire.

Who is doing what to whom?  Fingers can be pointed at both parties so which side is more to blame?  How do the Republicans and Democrats differ?

One striking difference between the two major political parties in America today is that if a Democrat in power has a good idea the Republicans will go out of their way to block it rather than give the other side a victory.

The GOP seems to think government is a game and they own the ball. If you’re not going to play me then I’m taking my ball home!

The other side of the coin has not been as steadfast a rule since the Democrats have been willing to join the Republicans should they ever come up with a good idea for the entire country.

It’s this childish mentality that caused Mitch McConnell to declare his vow to block everything President Obama tried to accomplish during his tenure as leader of the free World.  He even went so far as to state that his number one job was to make Mr. Obama a one term President!

McConnell and his teammates tried to stop any attempt to give Americans affordable healthcare. Then they wasted time in Congress that could have been spent governing and moving America forward by wasting tax payer dollars constantly voting to repeal the life saving bill.  With nothing in mind to replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) it’s clear they just cannot allow history to show that Mr. Obama and the Democrats accomplished something good!

And to tie this act of partisan childishness together with the main theme of the post the ACA was fashioned after Massachusetts’ so called Romney Care!

What were major differences between the two plans? Aside from the fact that one covered only people in one State not much.  Of course one was proposed and put forth by a white Republican.  Hmmm, I can’t think of too many other differences except the scale of the project and the fact that the ACA would help many more lower income families going forward.

And to bring another fact into light note that the Massachusetts legislature that went along with and worked on Romney Care alongside the Republican governor was overwhelmingly controlled by Democrats. They felt that giving the people a win was more important than blocking one for the Republicans!

One other point among so many I could note is that President Obama nominated a judge to the Supreme Court a year ago and even though Mr. Merrick Garland was considered by Republicans to be an incredibly fair judge they refused to even meet with him!  Many were quoted in the past saying Judge Garland would make a very fine choice for the Supreme Court.

What changed?

Oh, right!

The Democrats are starting to learn that this tactic, when used with a media blitz and fake news stories may actually reward bad behavior with reelections, control of Congress and even the White House.

But going forward I am certain the Democrats will not abandon their love of country as have their political opponents.  I don’t see the minority in Congress begging foreign powers to hack the GOP for dirt to embarrass them and take them down. The mere thought of doing so used to be considered treasonous.

I am also certain that should the odd and occasional good idea come forward from the other side of the aisle the Democratic Party will embrace it.

So if the Democrats want to help Americans and the ever shrinking Middle Class survive the next two or four years they will have to play ball.  After all bullies always seem to have a way of winning, at least until their followers finally realize that the truth is they don’t care about anyone but themselves!

Enough Aid to Profitable Businesses!

I fully understand why people don’t want to give money away. And I especially understand why people do not want their money going to those who do nothing to deserve a handout!

The main difference between the liberal stance and that of the conservative is the amount of help if any those in need should get from government and how we define the group we consider to be in need.

On the one hand the conservative believes that everyone should have to work for what they get and if they do work but still do not get enough then it is their fault.

The liberal feels that if the person works for a living and still cannot get enough on which to live then either the employer or the government must step in and fix the problem.  Without one or the other our homeless population will grow and our overall quality of life will diminish.

But if the government steps in and fixes the problem with public funds, also known as our tax dollars then the two groups become opposite sides of an ongoing argument.

I personally do not want anyone who does nothing to get my money, either directly through a handout or indirectly through my tax dollars.

But I also understand the reality of America today and realize the dilemma would not be relevant were it not for the greed of our large multinational corporations and their smaller cousins in private business.

Family owned concerns are notorious for nepotism. If you work for such a firm and are not related to the owner you must expect little or no compensation for your efforts. This will be doubly painful when you realize a relative of the owner gets promoted for merely showing up to work!  Sadly I know this personally and all too well in all the jobs I ever had especially my last position!

Large corporations act in a similar fashion except they replace relatives with politically connected donors.  If you can do something for the corporation you will receive many perks in exchange for expected regulatory relief!  Don’t deliver relief; don’t expect any more free vacations or ‘no-show’ jobs for your spouse!

The funny thing about the ongoing fight between the liberal and the conservative is that we actually agree on the main premise!  We just don’t articulate who the recipient of our tax dollar really is, the politician!

One look at how much Congress has done since President Obama was sworn into office January 2009 will show any sane individual how much of our tax dollars have gone to pay the salaries and benefits of those who have done nothing but block progress.

They say the opposite of PRO-gress is CON-gress and they happen to be right!

While the conservative media drones on about the takers of the country being the lower middle class and the poor they skillfully neglect to point out just how little has been done by the highly paid members of the Republican Party over the last decade!

And corporations do not get a pass in this fight!  Walmart is the largest offender costing the American tax payer millions of dollars every year by not paying their workers a fair salary.  Now if the Walton family was hurting I would say they must be allowed to work things out but this group of greedy scions is listed as the wealthiest family in the history of the Earth!

When Walmart pays a worker a low salary and demands he or she work longer hours or overtime after clocking out or other scams they are causing those people to find other ways to feed themselves let alone their families!  Often these poverty stricken workers look to Uncle Sam for assistance in the form of food stamps.  And food stamps are paid for out of the general fund which is funded by our tax dollars.  A simple straight line of logic then shows that Walmart does not pay workers enough to live because they know that the government will pick up the slack!

And to throw more excrement in into the face of the American taxpaying public this wealthiest family in the history of the Earth PAYS LESS TAX THAN YOU DO!

If we could remove tax loopholes and start collecting the fair tax dollars from this corporation and so many other incredibly profitable ones the U S deficit would all but disappear!

So back to the original comparison between conservatives and liberals, we agree on more than either side realizes!  We just don’t point at the right culprit!

If all workers were paid enough money to live a modest but debt free life the U S government would be able to suspend most aid programs thereby lowering the tax on the dwindling middle class. But more importantly they would be able to start collecting revenue from an entirely new group of tax payers proud to do their part for the future of America!

We Must Fix Stupid

Does anyone remember when our government was “of the people; by the people and for the people?”

Ah the good old days!

Anyone?

Buehler?

Me neither!

We have shrunk not the size of government but rather the number of people the government helps.

And at the same time the people who are elected to govern rail against programs for the masses, which elected them, claiming that to implement any social programs would cause them to stop lowering taxes and actually raise them!

Republicans say they want government out of healthcare but they offer absolutely no alternative other than telling everyone to fend for themselves.

First do harm - Then deny?

Not only is it heartless it is quite hypocritical since they and their families have essentially the best healthcare available paid for by you and me!

A rallying cry from the right, which is invariably wrong is, “Government must not decide my healthcare. They don’t know me and I don’t want someone who doesn't know me making my healthcare decisions!”

Of course that is exactly what we have now with impersonal bean-counting accountants and actuarial nerds in non-windowed rooms deciding how cost effective it would be to allow us to have blood tests that could save our lives.

What if those tests or procedures cost too much?  Will we make back what we pay out with increased premiums? If not then we must deny the claim.

Republicans are for the people but never really state which people that might be.

After years, no decades of giving billionaires, both individuals and corporations tax breaks there is little money left to do half the things America needs to get done.

And of course those non-tax-paying corporations are considered people since the conservative filled Supreme Court handed down one of the worst decisions ever in their ‘Citizens United’ ruling.

No one likes paying higher taxes but it is the price modern societies must pay to to protect their way of life.

We all want:

• To be able to safely drive on our roads and bridges
• Have police forces that serve and protect
• Have watchdog agencies keep an eye on the food industry so the food we eat won’t harm us or worse;
• Building inspectors ensuring our workplaces are safe and secure;
• Federal agencies making certain our airlines and railways provide safe travel;
• An emergency ready agency to aid citizens in times of disaster;
• And of course our homeland must be kept reasonably safe from real foreign threats of terror.

All these things we as a modern society and arguably the greatest and wealthiest nation in the world hold as entitlements exist and can only be funded by our tax dollars.  And the right wing of our government has made it their second most important job (behind de-funding anything President Obama proposes) to see that those tax dollars come out of the pockets of only the middle class and poor!

Is it Nero or Cruz?

If this absurd path toward oligarchic rule is not altered we as a nation are headed the way of the old Roman Empire.

One wonders which TPOTTY member will take out his fiddle while that happens?
Maybe all of them will join in as the ship of state sinks into fiscal obscurity.

We must remember that the wealthy who have abdicated all responsibility when it comes to helping hundreds of millions of Americans live healthy lives as they head into their so-called golden years can pick up and move anywhere they choose on the globe.

Soon they'll be able to travel even farther. Is that a Lady Gaga concert?

Their money is safe from the IRS and will remain thus as long as the Republicans continue to bamboozle enough voters into thinking they are on their side!

But I ask those of you who keep voting against your own best interest in the hopes of joining the ranks of the idle, evil rich, do you feel lucky, huh, do you punk?

How many times must you be slapped in the face before you learn the truth?

Even Pavlov’s dogs eventually learned!

In the 5 full years since the Democrats won and re-won the White House how many job bills have been passed and sent on to the Senate by the Republican stronghold of the House of Representative?
And just who do those elite and ‘deaf to the cries of the middle class and poor’ House Republicans really represent?

Certainly not me.

And I am certain they do not represent the bulk of the people who continue to vote for them, aka their constituency!

And in those same five years how many times have they voted to overturn a law that was even upheld by THEIR Supreme Court?

FORTY SIX TIMES and counting they have tried to de-fund the Affordable Care Act!  The very same act they proposed before President Obama was in office!  And at the same time they have given no alternative other than the same old tired hypocritical words.

The rhetoric of personal responsibility rings hollow in the ears of anyone with a brain yet they stay the course.

The childish dolts of the TPOTTY even shut down the government and threatened worldwide financial disaster if they didn't get their way costing our economy an estimated $24 Billion!

It is well past time for them to have a permanent ‘time out!’

Up to now they have paid no political price for their anti-American stance.  We as a nation must not allow this to last.

Remember in November and then every November after that and keep shrinking not the size of government but rather the Republican stronghold on it and on our future until they either come back to reality or are gone the way of the Whigs.

We are in a war and unless we defeat the Republican right wing we the people, and I include them, are doomed!

Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

The title of this post is an oft used comeback against someone who says something you think is outrageous or at least insincere.

But many do put their money where their mouths are or at least where they silently want everyone else’s mouths to be.

I am speaking of the silent majority of political backers also known as lobbyists.

These days the more money some people have the more they want and they’ll do anything to get it.  And if it means hurting or harming a majority of others to reach their goal so be it!

The bottom line IS their bottom line and money is the way they keep score.
Today my newspaper showed three candidates running for county supervisor but a quick glance merely showed their photos and the amount of money they have collected in donations.  The subliminal message was clearly we do not need to vote because the man with the most will most likely win!  And sadly the trend of putting the worst man or woman for the job in place will most likely continue.

Of course power enters into the equation as well but without money you may find yourself powerless.

Grass roots movements are definitely not a thing of the past but certainly not as powerful as they used to be and that is by design.  And the designers are those in power and those with enough money to keep them there.

President Obama won his first election by obtaining an incredible amount of money with which he was able to get his message across.  He did this with a grass roots organization that collected enough small donations to make the total impressive even by today's standards.

You can be the smartest person in the world and have the best ideas for the most people alive but without money or backers with cash your message remains in your dreams.

The Republican Party is nothing if they are not deviously smart and they see how to keep or get power in America.

Most of the candidates on the proverbial right side of the aisle probably do not believe half the things they say or promote, at least one can hope, but they know their constituents do so they say them.

But the real problem in America today lies in the wallets of the wealthiest greedy power hungry few who spend millions like most of us spend quarters.

These quiet behind the scenes types are insidious.  They know how to dangle their bait in front of unscrupulous politicians afraid of losing a seat in Congress and thus having to actually work for a living!

Their money allows the words they wish to say to come out of their puppets mouths.

If every American of the so-called 98% group donated one dollar to the same cause it would amount to around $300,000,000!  That is approximately half the amount Sheldon Adelson threw away backing the Mittster in the 2012 Presidential campaign And he is promising to double it going forward!

Now admittedly he has only one vote and the 98%ers have around 200 million votes assuming everyone went to the polls next time so he could easily be outvoted but… (I left out those under the voting age.)

Let’s face it, there are too many among us in the country that have little knowledge of what is going on in government and many more who just don’t care.  Then there are the ones who actually believe the crap spewed by the puppets of Adelson and friends.  And his friends while not that many have wealth nearly beyond belief!

Take the Koch brother, Please!

The basically useless Koch boys inherited daddy’s business and starting from the humble amount of billions have been able to make even more billions in their effort to pollute the world. Their causes are generally bad ones for the future of mother Earth but they know they’ll be long gone before our children and grandchildren have to wear gas masks and protective clothing and move to higher ground merely to survive so they continue their quest for more money at all cost!

And they too donate and donate wildly.

One such donation was recently uncovered as David tried to block a PBS documentary entitled Citizen Koch.  An obvious reference to one of the greatest films of all time, Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane which was about a ruthless wealthy man hell bent on having his views become those of the world.  The movie was a loosely veiled shout out against Citizen Hearst and clearly not a love note.
And with the money flowing the Republican Party has turned to voter suppression as an additional way to secure a long future in power for their wealthy backers.
In other words the more their money helps their mouths speak the less they listen to yours!
Be afraid - Be VERY afraid!

So how can we stop the creeping creepy creeps who flaunt their wealth and get their way by silently pulling strings in the public sector?

Well for one when we hear a politician say something odd or espouse a cause that may not be right for the majority of Americans we can look to see from whose mouth the words are actually emanating.  Follow the money back to its source.

Then ask yourself if you would want that puppet master to run your City or State or you America.

The answer will most likely be a resounding no!

Then use your hand next November and every November from now on to put your vote where your head is!

Enemies Mine

America has always had enemies and most likely always will.  Some say they hate us for our freedom and others for our arrogance but one thing most of our enemies have in common is their secret desire to visit and even live here.

Of course I am not speaking of mindless evil minded terrorists who care only about killing but rather those with defined differences in ideologies.  Some are jealous of our success and frustrated with their own government.

For example the leadership of Iran is an enemy who funds terrorists and insurgents around the world in an effort to harm America and our allies.  If you were to analyze their motives you might come away shaking your head at the stupidity of it all.  But the citizens of that repressed society actually admire America!

In Pakistan the leaders have banned Valentine’s Day saying it promotes vulgarity among the masses.  Yet they don’t seem to have any problem with suicide bombings.

Creating tension for the sake of creating tension is a form of insanity.  Fox news and their puppets on the right have long been proponents of doing just that.

And when a nation or group hates America they generally point to our leader or leaders as the focal point of their anger.

In that respect President Obama is no different from his predecessors and he definitely has his share of haters around the world.  But he holds the dubious distinction of having more enemies to deal with than any American President before him.  And that’s because so many of these haters ARE Americans.

I am not just talking about a simple political partisanship hate used to stoke a voter turnout fire but rather a deep seated intense possibly racially motivated and totally irrational violent hate that is so unfounded and unreasonable as to border on insanity.  And that border is as thin as it is porous.

Take the Republican Party in Congress and the first words out of the mouth of Senator Mitch McConnell after Mr. Obama became President Obama.  “Our number one job is to make Obama a one term President.”  The stance morphed a bit in 2012 to, “Our number one job is to get Obama out of office.”

One certainly could have hoped that the Republican Party would have made fixing the economy and helping Americans their top priority but then one would have been terribly wrong!

And every step of the way since making that nearly terrorist-like statement aimed at dismissing what the majority of voters indicated they wanted McConnell’s party has acted irrationally.  They voted against their own bills when and if the President came on board.  They back tracked on every piece of legislation they had originally proposed once the President agreed with them.

In a sort of comic ‘Bizarro World’ fashion Mr. Obama would have had to say he was against something in order to get it enacted!  And when he moved closer to their stance in negotiations they slithered further away to the right until they couldn't get much farther lest they fall off the face of the Earth.  And still they would not compromise.  In fact many in their camp consider compromise to be a curse word avoided at all costs.

And with the silent filibuster many of these cowardly lions of the Republican Party hid behind a loophole in the Senate regulations to stop his every attempt at moving America forward.  Mr. Obama has had the least amount of appointees approved by Congress since time began and had to suffer through a record number of filibusters aimed at creating a stagnation nation.

The Party of NO has even had the nerve to stop him from appointing his own cabinet members!  What’s next, telling him who he may have dinner with?

Right wing lunatic Grover Norquist, who has never been elected by any human to any office, has had a hold on the Republican Party for years.  He actually stated that his party of choice should allow the President a tiny increase on our ‘debt ceiling’ every 3 months and let him continue raising it ONLY IF HE BEHAVES!  Who the hell is this little weasel to demand the duly elected leader of the country behave?

And speaking of hate mongering weasels, how about a many times failed billionaire with horrendous hair constantly seeking publicity who demands to see proof that Mr. Obama is who he says he is?

But he and his ilk are not alone and the message they promote is repeated across the under educated world of Fox News network viewers and readers.

Many Americans who tend to live in this ‘bubble’ are unaware of the terrible tactics these so called leaders of their party were and are pulling.  They became disillusioned with the President and turned against him.  And as any self-fulfilling prophesy will do this fueled the feverish fires of the Republican Party further.  They saw their evil tactics being rewarded so they doubled down their efforts to ruin the economy and keep Americans unemployed or underemployed at best.

But the President was reelected.  And for the second time he garnered a majority of the popular vote. And Congress remains mired in a record low approval rating.  So one would guess they would change their tactics.  And once again one would be wrong.

Some of the Republican Party have taken to calling for less stupidity in their ranks realizing the public perception is finally taking a turn toward reality.  It may be too little too late.

Growing up I was told that when you hate someone it only hurts you. That may be true but when the ‘you’ that’s doing the hating happens to be an entire political party there is bound to be a great deal of collateral damage!

Our two political parties will always have ideological differences and neither side will ever be 100% right.  That’s why we need at least parties with clearly defined messages and beliefs.  But we also need and deserve representatives who know the meaning of the words compromise and especially governance!

And all sides must understand that elections have meanings and consequences!

It’s time for the hating of this American born non-Muslim President to end and for constructive governing to begin!

How Much is Enough?

Let’s say you had an almost unlimited supply of money that allowed you to spend $1 million a day, every day from now until the day you died.  Aside from the fact that it would be much harder than you might think bordering on impossible how much would you end up placing back in circulation to help the economy?

For the sake of this experiment I will use a man who is lucky enough to have the absurd fortune noted above at the early age of 30.

Since I am proposing that he can spend faster than a drunken sailor, apologies to the USN, he will be able to have the finest medical care known to man and his life expectancy will be therefore be higher than the average human.

If this person could live to the absurd age of 110 he would have been spending the allotted amount for roughly 29,220 days as he took his penultimate breath.

His final earthly bill could be rounded up slightly to $30 billion.

THIRTY BILLION DOLLARS!

So if this lucky individual had more than 30 billion dollars in his mattress when he hit the ripe young age of 30 saving for his retirement would appear to be rather stupid.

He could literally go crazy and make every day of the year for the rest of his life Black Friday and still have enough left in his estate to make his heirs super wealthy.

I am not saying he should go on an 80 year spending bender but then again why not?

Our lives are finite and unless you really believe that life is a game to be won by the person who dies with the most cash why not enjoy yourself while you're here?

When a person of ridiculous wealth hoards his cash or spends only with thoughts of amassing more money at the expense of the well-being of others, or of the entire planet for that matter one could consider that man evil.

But if his evil ways were unintentional he may not realize he is hurting humanity.  If this is the case we must extend him some pity and try an intervention.

One might suggest he get psychiatric help but a good analyst would cost money and he might consider the return to be monetarily unattractive.

Do any such people exist at this time?  Are there any extremely wealthy people who spend only to make more without regard to the world that spawned them and allowed them to become wealthy in the first place?

Do birds fly?

Do fish swim?

Is the Pope Ital, I mean Catholic?

Keith Olbermann may choose his “Worst person in the world” on a daily basis but mine happens to hold the crown constantly.

He is the older of the two brothers with the last name of Koch.

He and his younger sibling inherited and now run Koch Industries.  The conglomerate employs over 70,000 people (20,000 outside America) in various capacities but their main source of income is from petroleum.

According to all reputable scientists not on the Koch payroll or Fox Network so-called experts, the burning of fossil fuels causes global warming, and it's doing so at an alarming rate.  If left unchecked it will eventually destroy the planet and life as we know it.

This is not a ‘Chicken Little’ statement but a logical extrapolation of historic events using records dating back hundreds if not thousands of years.

Charles Koch, through corporation is a major contributor to political causes aimed at keeping the status quo that allows the corporation to continue its path of destruction.

To be fair his younger brother David has donated money to the arts, most notably having his name appear on a theater in Lincoln Center, New York.  He is considered a quiet philanthropist of sorts.

As a Libertarian David naturally supports legalizing marijuana dude and gay marriage so he is not completely without reason or compassion.  But his political views, along with his older brother Charles tend to negate much of the good he seems to do.

Charles de Ganahl Koch naturally wishes to repeal all taxes.  He says he wants smaller government with no oversight or regulations as they tend to get in the way of profits.

Of course larger more constricting government would be okay as long as it is on his terms and only places shackles on the little people.

Charles’ only donations and efforts go to Conservative causes aimed at squeezing every last penny out of the hands of the average American.

He is a major contributor to such right wing leaning anti-social groups as the Heritage Foundation, the fear mongering Cato Institute and the absurdly named Americans for Prosperity.  He has said that he considers President Obama to be the worst kind of Socialist out to attack prosperity and economic freedom.  He considers Warren Buffet and George Soros to be idiots for giving to causes that promote the public welfare.  Helping the little people?  What idiots!

Charles Koch is 77 years old and has a net worth of just under $38,000,000,000.  Instead of funding Wisconsin’s Governor Scott Walker and others in their efforts to destroy unions and ruin the lives of hundreds of thousands of American citizens in his quest for more money what if he were to start spending like that drunken sailor we spoke of earlier?

The elder Mr. Koch could spend twice our example tossing out 2 million dollars a day while living to the incredible age of 120 and still die with $7 billion unused cash in his custom built mahogany coffin.

I don’t expect to change anyone’s beliefs nor do I claim to have all the answers but I do know that in order for all of us to have a wonderful life the Mr. Potters of the world must not be revered as Gods.  They must be pointed out for what they are, greedy self-serving spiders weaving webs of woe for all who oppose their agenda.

I know this post will not cause Koch Industries to change their ways but if more of us point out that these self-proclaimed emperors are wearing no clothes perhaps our government will start to act in a more responsible way.  And hey, you never know, Charles might even start spending.

I have been spouting about the dangers of allowing Republicans to gain control of the government for the next four years but for some reason the evil scary right winger puppet is still close in the polls!
So perhaps people like me are not getting the message across well enough.
With that in mind I now appeal to 51% of the American populace - WOMEN!
And I offer this message, not from plain looking me but from BEAUTIFUL ladies like this!
If you are a woman; a member of a minority; over 65; UNDER 65 or just a human who earns, makes, or brings home less than a million dollars a year and are still thinking of voting for this evil right wing moron please click the above link and learn!

Republicans are not for humans, only corporations!  And no matter how many bribed conservative Supreme Court idiot justices say otherwise CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE!!!!

The Scorpion Effect Vis-a-Vie the 2012 Election

I’m sure you all know the story of the scorpion and the frog but just in case:

The scorpion must get across a river but it does not swim.

The frog is at the edge of the river and the scorpion asks for a ride.

The worried frog says, “But if I give you a ride you will sting me and I will die.”

And the scorpion points out that, “If I were to sting you then we would both die and therefore it would be silly for me to do so.”

Hearing this logic the frog relents.

But halfway across the river the scorpion indeed stings the frog and as they drown the frog asks incredulously “Why?”

“Because I’m a scorpion,” said the stinger “and that’s what scorpions do!”

The above story explains this year’s Presidential election.

How so you might ask.

How is the stinging of the poor unsuspecting naïve frog the same thing as an entire electorate voting to choose the next President?

I’m so pleased you asked.

Hop into the blogosphere time machine and I will explain.

In the year 2000 there was a close vote between former Vice President Al Gore and his Republican opponent G W Bush.

After the voting was complete there was no clear winner. And although it appeared that some irregularities were involved that could have far reaching implications the process of recounting votes was halted and the decision of who would be the President of the United States was taken out of the hands of the voters and given to the courts.

But not just any court.

It was handed over to a conservative think tank organization also known as the Supreme Court of the United States.

This particular political action group of robed ‘deciders’ was stocked with supporters hand picked for just this type of situation. But they could not do a thing unless they were called into action. And that was as unprecedented as, well as blatantly stopping a recount to appoint a winner.

Luckily they were handed the task by a woman, ONE WOMAN who was not-so-secretly in love with her boss who just so happened to be Jeb Bush, brother of Georgie and the eventual recipient of the crown.

The president in 2000 was decided not by the majority of the 105 million plus voters but by a 5 to 4 predetermined vote of conservative supporters nullifying and circumventing the wishes of nearly an entire nation.

Granted the vote was close but Mr. Gore with 48.4% did in fact beat his opponent who garnered only 47.8% but in America as in our Congress it is not always the majority that rules.

Now let’s travel ahead four years and two wars later and review what transpired in the next major election.

In 2004 the conservatives were somewhat afraid to do the same thing as they did in 2000 so they started using voting models more seriously and found what are now quite commonly known as ‘swing states.’

These are electoral gold mines that above all can ‘swing’ a national election in favor of one guy, or gal over another.

And they found Ohio.

History and a keen eye will show how they once again circumvented rules and fair political action (now there’s an oxymoron for you) and stole yet another election for the inept war mongering criminal team of Dubya & Darth Cheney.

So now we are back home in good old 2012 and are heading into another Presidential election that could very well decide the make up of that formerly fair and balanced Supreme Court for many years to come.

But the scorpion has now become so secure in its tactic of stinging America and stealing elections that it is brazenly and openly doing so with every slimy step.

It seems to have figured out how to kill off the middle class while not drowning itself.

And to prove how secure they are in their winning ways if they can pull it off this time they will have placed a President in the White House who is, by their own words the worst candidate ever to run for the Oval Office.

So how can they do this?

Will they bring back Katherine Harris?

Could they possibly hypnotize an entire nation into believing that suddenly Willard is not a rat?

No this time it’s in your face and personal!

The stinger is out and they have no intention of hiding it at all!

If you are or have shown yourself to be a Democrat or are merely leaning in the direction of voting for a Democrat you will have obstacles thrown in front of you every step of the way to the voting booth.

Voter suppression is such an anathema to our country and its tenet of freedom as to be considered a terrorist act and yet the Republican Party, their Governors and their fringe groups are all conspiring to do just that!

And doing it while admitting what their plan is!

Veterans of foreign wars who volunteered and risked their lives to secure freedom for America are being thrown off the voter roles after voting continuously for 60 years merely because they are registered; admitted; or in a demographic that assumes they are Democrats.
In some Republican controlled states such as Texas, Bush's former 'clearing brush stomping grounds,' the unabashed BS of the RW goes as far as to disallow valid student ID cards from colleges and universities but accept gun permits as legitimate identification for voting!
Obviously the right wing has figured out that intelligent students are more likely to vote Democratic than their gun toting beer drinking low life neighbors with tattoos touting second amendment rights.
Of course none of the fears these champions of concealed weapons have been shown to be true under President Obama but since when did truth and logic enter into a right winger's brain.

If Willard Mitt Romney were a better candidate; or even just a man of the people with a sense of what the country needs; or if he even gave a damn about the plight of the majority of Americans then he would have a chance in a fair election of taking the brass ring that is the Presidency.

But he is not!

And as much a puppet as W was Mitt is not even worthy of that insulting label. He is merely a front; an empty shirt; a figurehead to place in the office to do the bidding of his owners of the corporate world.

But the fact that he is undeserving of being on the same ballot as President Obama is not the point of this post.

The point of THIS post is the scorpions that are Karl Rove and the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson and all the rest of the individuals who for their own personal reasons need to have their hand picked stooge as the leader of the free world are fixing to fix yet another American election.

This must not be allowed!
