DON'T BE FOOLED - PART II

Right or wrong, voters feel the economy is not good.

The Biden 'anti-inflation bill' that now has every Democrat on board, will help all of us greatly and lower inflation.

It will even help the dumbest of the dumb in the country. (In fact, it will probably help them more than us humans!)

THEREFORE, NOT ONE REPUGNANT REPUB WILL VOTE FOR IT!

mcconnell is pissed that he got played by Biden & Manchin and will pay them back by demanding his GOP not support ANYTHING we the people want or need, so as to NOT give the Dems a "win"!

Don't think he'll do it? He already used this un-American tactic against President Obama, and even stole seats on the (formerly) Supreme Court!

But fixed or not, the economy is the GOP's one issue for November, and they will all run on it!

Gas prices will probably be lower than when Bush was in the White House, but will Fox mention it on air?

Seriously?

And they will hide the fact that their party aided and abetted seditious actions by their president!

They will deflect from their nationwide push to turn America into Gilead and blame any perceived problem on Biden.

They would rather lay waste to the country than help Americans!

They showed that by trying to block the veteran's health bill.

They show it by taking away women's rights.

They showed it by having Viktor Orban, Dictator of Hungary, speak prominently at their CPAC meeting.

(For the fun of it, and your own edification, 'Google' a list of speakers at this year's CPAC meeting in, where else, Texas. It's nauseating!)

They show it by embracing the "Big Lie" and the evil liar who started it!

They show it in every action they take.

But we can show them that we are mad as hell, and we are not going to take it anymore by waking up to reality.

We must vote them out of existence, or they will legislate us out!

Forget the names members of a political party give themselves. They are meant to deceive you.

Forget the words they use to describe their groups and foundations. The words are misleading and meant to strike fear of others in your hearts.

Remember only what they stand for by looking at their actions and their votes in the US Congress and State houses across America on all of the following issues:

Women’s rights
Voting rights
Climate change action
Healthcare
Gun massacre control
Veterans’ aid
Clean air and water
Infrastructure safety
And the continuation of our American Democracy over tyranny and treason!

No one will be 100% on your side all the time, but one political party seems to be nearly 100% against all of the issues and rights noted above every chance they get to act!

They do so either by voting against them; blocking them from being voted on; or filibustering them to make them disappear.

Then they claim the other side is getting nothing done and must be removed from power.

If you want our Democracy to survive,
If you want America to thrive,
If you care about your families and the future,
You must not allow yourself to be made a fool.

You simply must vote in every election, be it Local, State, or Federal, and make your voice heard.

 At the core of our democracy is the trust we place in our elected officials.

So, when they lie, cheat & attempt to steal, they must be held accountable.

Repub placed justices lied & cheated to get where they are, and now they are stealing OUR rights!

dt has lied for a decade, (and far more if you count his horrendous business tactics) and cheated to get into and remain in office.

He also, arguably, committed treason, yet walks free to this day.

The elected Repubs who enabled his tactics and protected him from prosecution, even while he incited to riot and murder, still walk free and retain their seats in Congress.

The Repub party, and all of their appointees on the bench, have thus made our democracy rotten to the core!

MUSINGS ON SAYINGS

I've always enjoyed phrases that make you stop and think.

Here are a few oxymorons and silly sayings that I call:

'Lexicon-jobs.'

(Cue the drummer!)

"I heard you just had a little baby."

"Well, I'm married, so I already have a big baby!"

"Did you have a nice shower?"

"Nah, I decided to have an ugly one today!"

Big Pharma: "Do not take 'mxyplxt' if you are allergic to 'mxyplxt'.

"Why not? I love the way I look when my skin gets those bright red itchy polka dots."

"Have a headache?"

"No thanks, I already have one."

"If you cannot afford your drug, 'ABX' might be able to help you."

"Might??? JUST LOWER THE PRICE!"

"How about a spot of tea?"

"Uh, no thanks, I just cleaned this outfit."

Sports: "He's holding his own!"

He'd better be holding his own, or a fight could break out!

Lawn sign: "House for sale, By Owner."

As opposed to, "House for sale by neighbor down the block on the left. I hate the guy!"

Baseball: "The pitch was too high, for a ball."

Then what was it?

And of course, old favorites:

'Jumbo shrimp'

'Government Intelligence'

And sadly, 'Republican integrity'. 

SUFFER NOT JUST THE CHILDREN!

When a child brings home something a parent is proud of, such as an original drawing, or a great report card from school, it gets placed on the refrigerator. A friend, neighbor, or relative may spot it and comment, "You must be so proud."

And truth be told, the parent does feel a bit of pride, even if the item on display is not a Rembrandt or a piece of paper studded with "A"s.

After all, it represents the culmination, or at least the beginning of the journey toward what the parent had dreamed of for their child.

The parent, as mentor, has tried to point the offspring in the desired direction his or her entire life, and can now start to see the budding of their bidding, the fruits of their unselfish labor.

I wonder if the refrigerator in Mitch McConnell's home, or Ted Abbott's kitchen will display the achievements of the nurtured murderer of children in Uvalde, TX this week.

Will the headlines replace those of the deranged killer in a Texas church, or a Walmart?

Or will the photos of the grieving parents be tacked onto the appliance alongside the current massacre, leaving space for the next one, and the one after that, and on and on.

It is way past time for the Repub party to join the overwhelming majority of humans across America in their desire to end these senseless attacks on innocent men, women, and of course, children!

Take the bill, passed by the Democratic majority in the House, out of the freezer and place it on the table to be voted on!

Let the public see who is on the side of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, without fear of being gunned down in a movie theater, a church, a high school, or an elementary school, and which political party is, instead, in the pocket of the NRA!

Thoughts and prayers are not a substitute for seeing one's child grow up, get married, have children, and buy a house with a refrigerator upon which they can post wonderful works of art that rival a Picasso!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "WE" WHITE MAN?

Why does the US Constitution say, “We the people…” when the document really means “We, the white land-owning men…”?

You would have to get in your time machine, don your time appropriate garments and head back to 1775 Philadelphia for the answer.

Of course, the real answer lies many years, if not centuries or even millennia earlier when the ‘weaker sex’ relied on men to bring home the bacon, a beaver, or a buffalo and provide safety.

But before you make like Anne Boleyn, let me assure you this will not be a very long history lesson on the minority rule of men. It will merely be a roundabout way of showing that while ‘the squeaky wheel gets the oil’, ‘might makes right’ is still the rule.

There are several more aphorisms that could be used but after a while they may take the reader’s attention away from my purpose, so I’ll stop before it’s too late, and strike while the iron is hot!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

In law there is something called, ‘Adverse Possession’ which is generally used with regards to land ownership, but I will stretch it’s use a bit here for reasons which will become painfully clear.

Adverse possession states that if someone owns, or claims to own, or has in his possession, that which he was not originally entitled to, for a prolonged period, without dispute by the original owner, then ownership is given to the usurper.

The idea and practice comes from England, which just so happens to be where the United States came from.

So, where does adverse possession fit into the argument about “We the people”?

White, land-owning men have seemingly owned all other groups of human beings in America ever since arriving here from England, so, QED.

And since the above has only been disputed a handful of times, albeit successfully, the rule still stands and can be reinstated at any time!

Two such successful disputes involved 'squeaky-wheel' suffragettes, and equally 'squeaky-wheeled' African Americans marching for Civil Rights.

However, it now seems that the people noted in the Constitutionally cited, “We the People”, have decided that enough is enough.

They have started to rescind the hard-fought for and won rights of decades past.

Well, not all the “We the People´ have decided the above.

A mere five to four simple-minded; single-minded, simple majority on the Supreme Court of the United States is simply about to do so.

With a stroke of their conservative pen, those five individuals will strike down the first right from a list they should hold sacrosanct; that of women being allowed to control their own bodies.

The archaic reason is, after all, they have been possessions of white men since before this Nation even began and were merely on loan to themselves.

And once “We the People” have taken care of women’s health issues, their right to vote against their husband’s wishes could be next.

Rescinding the rights of those they consider inferior sects of our citizenry will follow, as all the dominoes will topple, and America will finally be ‘taken back’.

But no time machine is needed to stop that which would appear to be inevitable.

No new revolutionary war, or civil war be started, or rather continued.

The first shot heard round the world has been fired.

Now is the time for all good “We the People" - "All the People” to stand up and be heard before their voices are, like Poe’s Raven said, heard NEVERMORE!
