The following chart lists the average life expectancy by State. I added the controlling political party in the right hand column.
Some interesting statistics came out of this information such as:
The average Life Expectancy in Blue States is 79.64.
The average Life Expectancy in Red States is 78.06.
Not a tremendous difference unless of course you are 78 years old and live in a State run by the GOP!
There are only 2 Red States listed in the top 10.
There are 8 Red States in the bottom 10. And the 2 non Red ones are not Blue States!
22 Red States are listed below the National Average while only 4 Blue States are down there!

WHILE POLITICIANS MAY LIE STATISTICS DO NOT!
THE BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOU WISH TO LIVE A LONGER LIFE YOUR CHOICES ARE:
MOVE TO A DEMOCRATIC RUN BLUE STATE
OR
WAKE THE HELL UP AND START VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS!
YOUR VERY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!

Source: Measure of America calculations using mortality data
from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health
Statistics 2009, and population data from the CDC WONDER database. Source for
the territories is the CIA World Factbook.
Note: Life expectancy values have been rounded to one decimal
place. As a result, the values appear to be tied in several instances but the
rankings reflect the original calculations, not the rounded values. In cases
where there is no life expectancy estimate, the population of that group is too
small to enable reliable estimates.
